Willian set to sign short term deal with Chelsea and aims for long term deal lies away from the club, as the forward looks set to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of his contract with teams like Arsenal and Tottenham keen on signing him, though he’s expected to remain at the club until the end of the season

However, while he would prefer to pen a new three-year contract at Stamford Bridge, club officials are not prepared to meet the Brazilian’s demands.

As it stands, that will lead to the 31-year-old playmaker being free to move to a new club when his existing deal expires at the end of June.

“It’s a difficult situation,”. “Chelsea offered me two years and they are not going to change. He said

I don’t know if it will be possible to stay. My goal is to continue working and focus on the remainder of the season, so that Chelsea can continue winning games.

“I have a clear head and I’m focused for the rest of the season that we have left. Let’s see what happens.”

With the Premier League season due to run at least into July, Willian is prepared to pen a short-term extension so he can see out the remainder of the campaign at Stamford Bridge.

But the 31-year-old has admitted his career beyond that remains uncertain as he continues to hold out for a three-year deal.

It still remains unclear whether Chelsea will offer the Spaniard a new deal but Lampard has already expressed his concern at potentially losing both Pedro and Willian.

“It is still uncertain if and when play will get underway. We have big players [out of contract] so that’s something I’m obviously looking at very carefully,” Lampard said .

And according to the current economic climate, Willian’s stock will be high this summer as clubs prepare to scramble for the free agents on the market.
